PRISM150

The PRISM150 is a high-performance "Prepackaged Reconfigurable Integrated System-on-Module" (PRISM) designed to enable and accelerate advanced embedded system design. The PRISM150 boasts a high level of hardware and software integration and flexibility, employing cutting edge ARM-9 technology tightly coupled with the low cost, high-density, Xilinx Spartan-3E FPGA.

Mastered by an Atmel AT91RM9200 microcontroller the PRISM150 offers a powerful and extensive peripheral set for control, communication, and data storage purposes. Based on the ARM920T 200-MIPS advanced 32-bit RISC processor, the RM9200 includes 16k bytes of on-chip SRAM and 128K bytes of ROM, together with an external bus interface (EBI) with 32M bytes of SDRAM, 64M bytes of NOR Flash, and a host of other peripherals.

The PRISM150 extends the performance and reach of the microcontroller by bridging to the Xilinx Spartan-3E with a high bandwidth OPB Bus Master controller, facilitating a true, dual processor system capable of implementing nearly any desired expansion interface. By arbitrating transactions in a standard Xilinx Microblaze processor system within the FPGA, a host of custom peripherals can be added to the RM9200 controller with ease and rapidity.

The PRISM150 includes numerous digital and analog peripherals commonly used in communications, automotive, military, and medical applications and an available FPGA bridge provides unparalleled ability to expand the number of peripherals further.

The PRISM150 architecture is modular in nature, allowing for ease of integration of custom user logic and or custom peripheral bridging functions. The PRISM150 also comes fully equipped with on board programmable clocks, voltage regulators, and power monitors, removing these critical and often difficult hardware elements from the designer's plate, accelerating the design cycle while facilitating the absolute fastest time to market.
