PRISM200

The PRISM200 is a high-performance "Prepackaged Reconfigurable Integrated System-on-Module" (PRISM) designed to enable and accelerate advanced embedded system design. The PRISM200 features a state-of-the-art programmable fabric and embedded processing subsystem based on the Xilinx Virtex-4 FX family of FPGAs.

With two 450MHz PowerPC 405 processor cores, two 10/100/1000 hard Ethernet macros, 622 Mbps to 6.5 Gbps serial transceiver blocks, dedicated hard DSP blocks, on-board high-speed clock management circuitry, 160 high speed general purpose input/outputs (GPIOs) and numerous other hard-IP core blocks, the PRISM200 architecture facilitates formidable processing power in an ultra-dense form factor.

While the PowerPC 405 cores each feature a 32-bit Harvard Architecture, 5-stage execution pipeline, with integrated L1 instruction and data cache, the PRISM200 also includes on-module high-density DDR2 SDRAM, NOR, and NAND Flash memory allowing for full featured hardware/software development with industry standard RTOS packages including VxWorks, Linux, and others. An optional Auxiliary Processor Unit (APU) interface also allows for optimized FPGA-based coprocessor connection topologies.

Processing power on the PRISM200 is bested only by the sheer bandwidth capabilities of this state of the art FPGA based architecture. The PRISM200 is capable of moving vast amounts of data on its over 160 1Gbps GPIOs, each supporting any of 20+ different electrical standards including HSTL, SSTL, LVDS, and LVPECL. With dedicated on board circuitry to facilitate high speed source synchronous interfaces as well as high speed serialization/deserialization in all I/O, the IO capabilities of the PRISM200 are extreme.

The PRISM200 includes numerous digital and analog peripherals commonly used in communications, automotive, military, and medical applications. In addition the PRISM200 bonds out 4 of the Virtex-4 FX Multi-Gigabit Transceivers (MGT) which facilitate a host of standard SERDES implementations and custom SERDES implementations.

The PRISM200 is ideally suited for high performance military, medical, industrial, automotive, and networking applications requiring significant control and or data path processing with a high degree of flexibility and scalability.
