AKA's Custom Dedicated ATE for SSPC products

A complete, dedicated Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for testing our SSPC based products was designed and programmed by AKA. This ATE is in use for fully testing all features of the SSPC under all possible load conditions in an automated way. The ATE can be easily programmed and configured to test any customized SSPC solution.

The ATE uses state-of-the-art technology and test equipment. The challenge with this kind of tester is to be able to accurately measure the trip within microseconds of reaching the maximum percentage overload as defined by the I2t curve. Large amounts of current must be supplied for very short periods of time in a reliable manner. To supply this kind of current (for the high trip point tests), conventional power supplies will not suffice. Rather, a hybrid mix of conventional off the shelf programmable supplies as well as heavy duty marine batteries. The ATE's mechanics and return-path are uniquely designed to supply this kind of power in as symmetrical and lossless a way as possible (using large bus bars, matched cables of absolute shortest lengths, etc.). The load bank is also a hybrid between fixed loads (high precision power resistors) and a programmable load which is also very precise.

The system comes with an integrated battery charger and several protective features to prevent injury to the operators or major damage to the facility.

With the automation capabilities of the AKA SSPC ATE, the testing time was significantly shortened.

The ATE station comes with custom test software allowing the technician to easily conduct the testing while recording all test results and generating reports.
